Swiftel Center to Close Facility to the Public in Response to COVID-19

Brookings, S.D. – As a City of Brookings owned facility, following the direction of the City of Brookings, the Swiftel Center facility will be closed to the public effective 12:00p.m. CST on Wednesday, March 18. According to the direction of the City of Brookings, the current plan is to re-open the Swiftel Center to the public at 8:00a.m. CST on Monday, April 6. However, this date is subject to change based on a re-evaluation of current circumstances and conditions.

During this time, the Swiftel Center administrative team will continue to work; however, the offices will be closed to the public. Our guests, clients and employees are encouraged to coordinate with the full-time Swiftel Center management team via telephone and online channels.

The Swiftel Center management is working with each event individually to determine cancelation or postponement status. The Swiftel Center website (www.swiftelcenter.com/covid19) will have the most up-to-date information regarding all event-related updates and status changes.

As a fan-first facility, we sincerely appreciate your support of Swiftel Center events and your understanding during this time. The health, welfare and safety of our guests as well as our clients and employees are our highest priority. We want to thank you for being such a valued supporter of the event and meeting industry.

The Swiftel Center Ticket Office will close effective 12:00p.m. CST on Wednesday, March 18. We apologize for any inconvenience. In-person ticket refunds will be given once the facility re-opens. If you want to purchase a ticket, we encourage fans to purchase online at Ticketmaster.com. For more information, you can contact the Swiftel Center Ticket Office via phone line or email.

For all tickets purchased online through Ticketmaster.com, here are the guidelines directly from Ticketmaster:
  • For future events that are still scheduled, you’re all set. There’s nothing you need to do, and if anything changes, we will contact you with updates.
  • If your event was canceled, there’s also nothing you need to do. It’s Ticketmaster’s standing policy to automatically refund the full cost of the ticket and fees to the original purchaser’s credit card. For any canceled events: Due to the unprecedented volume of cancelations, please note that you should expect to receive your refund in as soon as 30 days.
  • If your event was rescheduled, we are working with the event organizer to identify new dates, and we will contact you as soon as we have confirmation. At that time, if you have any questions or concerns, you’ll be able to reach out to Ticketmaster Fan Support for assistance. If your event’s organizer is offering refunds for a rescheduled event, this option will be visible under the event in your Ticketmaster account.
  • For additional information, you can contact our Fan Support team, but please understand that due to the high volume of inquiries, we are experiencing longer than normal wait times.

The Swiftel Center will continue to monitor these resources for the latest developments and encourages our guests, clients and employees to do the same for the most timely and accurate information.
