Swiftel Center catering is cooking up a new recipe for 60’s Plus Dining program
Brookings, S.D. (4/20/2020) – A new menu item is now available. The Swiftel Center catering team cooked up a new Chicken Marsala recipe for the 60’s Plus Dining program. The meal includes a delicious chicken breast covered in house-made Marsala sauce accompanied by a hearty scoop of wild rice and a fresh vegetable medley.
The team is continuing to create fresh, frozen meals for the Brookings community, in a collaboration with Inter-Lakes Community Action Partnership (ICAP) and Brookings Area United Way. Each meal provides one third of the daily recommended nutrition amounts. The recipes are similar to what a Swiftel Center guest would be served at a banquet meal.
Chicken Marsala is one of ten options available to be selected for a seven-day meal pack. Each meal is frozen and can be heated in a microwave. A seven-day meal pack also includes a small loaf of bread, fruit juice and a half gallon of milk. Seven-day meal packs are available for any adult age 60 and older. Packs are offered for a free will donation with a suggested amount of $27.
Enhancing the quality of life for the Brookings community is an important component of the Swiftel Center mission. By creating meals and introducing new recipes, the Swiftel Center team is continuing to carry out that mission, even while the facility is closed to the public.
