The South Dakota State University rodeo team will kick up the dust at the 65TH annual Jackrabbit Stampede Rodeo Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6, at the Swiftel Center in Brookings, SD. Sixteen colleges in the Great Plains Region will bring more than 300 contestants to Brookings for three action-packed rodeo performances.

Tanner, age 16, of Milbank, SD, passed away October 7, 2018, in Sioux Falls.

Curb recording artist Lee Brice was ready celebrate the New Year by launching his “Life Off My Years” concert tour with his good friend and running buddy Tyler Farr — and Dylan Scott — beginning February 4 in Salisbury, MD. But, with Farr undergoing emergency vocal chord surgery and enforced vocal rest, the Academy of Country Music Song and Single of the Year winner is forced to give his friend time to heal and has tapped Jerrod Neimann to fill Farr’s boots. Lee Brice, with Special Guests Jerrod Niemann plus Dylan Scott will be taking the stage on Sunday, February 14 at the Swifter Center.












More than $5,000 Raised by 2015 Tough Enough to Wear Pink

Yes, Brookings IS tough enough. The 2015 Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign raised $5,133 to donate towards the fight against cancer. Staff members at the Swiftel Center presented the total campaign funds to Brookings Health System Foundation last week.




Newsboys to Perform at Swiftel Center in November

Four-time GRAMMY® nominees and platinum-selling chart-toppers Newsboys will perform at the Swiftel Center on November 15. The Christian rock band is touring this fall on the “We Believe…God’s Not Dead” tour joined by special guests Hawk Nelson and Ryan Stevenson. This extensive tour, which had more than 30 sold-out shows last spring, will hit approximately 40 markets this fall including Brookings, SD.




Swiftel Center Wins the International 2015 Venue Excellence Award

The Swiftel Center was awarded the 2015 Venue Excellence Award by the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) at the Venue Industry Awards Luncheon in Baltimore earlier this month. This is the highest award in the venue industry given by IAVM, which is the world’s largest professional association dedicated to the management of public assembly venues.




Little Big Town is Coming to the Swiftel Center

Grammy award-winning country group Little Big Town is bringing their THE PAIN KILLER TOUR to the Swiftel Center Saturday, October 24. The foursome--consisting of members Karen Fairchild, Jimi Westbrook, Phillip Sweet, and Kimberly Schlapman--have already hit over 50 markets on this highly-successful headlining tour. Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush” is currently Top 20 on the country radio charts and #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart for the third consecutive week, raking in total sales of over 700k to date.




Two Students Awarded Scholarships from Swiftel Center Dairy Fest

The Swiftel Center Dairy Fest committee awarded two $500 scholarships to South Dakota State University students at the 2015 SDSU Dairy Science Scholarship Banquet. Megan Viland and Megan Schaefer were selected as scholarship recipients.
